Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain a correct brazing gap and obtain stable brazing joint strength by mixing a powder brazing material of a specific amount and specific m.p. with high-m.p. metallic powders of specific grain sizes. CONSTITUTION:This is the powder brazing material prepd. by mixing a powder brazing material of 600-860 deg.C m.p. with high-m.p. powders Fe, Co, Ni, Cr, Mo, W powders or their alloy powders of 0.01-0.08mm. grain size within the 1-50W/O ratio by weight. If this is coated on a brazing area, and flame brazing or in-furnace brazing is accomplished, the powder brazing material assumes the molten state, but the powders of Fe, Co, etc. or their alloy powders are higher than the temp. at which the powder brazing material begins to melt and therefore they remain in that state and since the grain sizes are 0.01-0.08mm., the brazing gap is maintained substantially at 0.01-0.08mm.. Hence, the high and stable brazing joint strength is obtained.
