PURPOSE:To achieve the excellent bias stabilization, by taking the output difference after level adjustment by the sampling corresponding to the horizontal synchronizing signal period of FM signal modulated with the video signal in the detected output of incident and transmitting light to the light modulator, as the bias voltage. CONSTITUTION:The incident laser beam LBi is given to the photoelectric converter PE1 via the semitransparent mirror 1 and transmits through the light modulator PM and it is incident to the photoelectric converter PE2 via the beam splitter 2. The sampling pulse corresponding to the horizontal synchronizing signal period of the video signal is given to terminals 9, 10 of the sample holding circuits SH1 and SH2, and the output of the circuit SH1 is inputted to the subtractor 8 via the level adjuster 7 to take difference between said output and the output of the circuit SH2, and is given to the light modulator PMOD as the bias. Even if the rate of interruption of light is changed according to the signal frequency, stable bias can be obtained.
