Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a bar type torsion spring lighter in weight and lower in cost in a bar type torsion spring like a torsion bar and so forth by a method wherein the torsion bar body is shaped in a hollow form and the leg part of a stopper is inserted into and fixed to either end of the hollow part. CONSTITUTION:When the bar type torsion spring is applied to a stabilizer, the bar type torsion spring body is attached by supporting fittings 2 to a fixture on a car body and the like, supported by the supporting fittings 2 on a paint in the middle of a length l1, torsion spring action is conducted in this range and lending action is conducted in the middle of the length l2 of the supporting fittings 2 to either end of the spring body 1. In such a torsion spring body 1, at each of its ends provided an adapter 5 having a setting hole 4, while the leg part 6 of this adapter 5 is inserted into and fixed to the hollow part 7. Thus, the torsion bar and the stabilizer in the form of a pipe can be manufactured simply, as well as the product of lighter weight with lowered cost can be obtained.
