Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce vibration of a vehicle body and improve road holding property and the like by a method wherein a spring steel rod member constituting a stabilizer main body is fitted at its either end with a leaf spring having a lower flexural rigidity than the rod member and with upper and lower restrictor plates which restrict the movement of the spring. CONSTITUTION:A stabilizer comprises a spring steel rod member 1 bent into a - shape, the central portion of the member 1 being rotatably fitted to vehicle body by brackets 2 and the both end portions of the member 1 being fitted to right and left axes or to the swing arms thereof. The member 1 is fitted at its either end with a leaf spring 3 having a lower flexural rigidity than the member 1 and with upper and lower restrictor plates 4, 5 for restricting the movement of the spring 3. The tip end of the spring 3 is formed with a fitting hole 6 and elastically fitted on a fitting bolt, with rubber bushes sandwiching the tip end. When a wheel on one side passes a rugged portion of a road surface, the effect caused to the wheel on the other side can be reduced through the stabilizer, and hence ride comfortableness can be improved.
