PURPOSE:To make chip test CT while lessening added load on a hardware, by inputting an instruction signal for the chip test CT via a data bus used for the execution of normal instructions. CONSTITUTION:During CT instruction execution, multiplexer 10 selects test instruction signal (i) in the 1st one-machine cycle MC and latches it in instruction register 3. At this time, test control circuit 12 outputs test switching signal (h) and controls the operation mode of input-output control circuit 11 to apply signal (f) from input-output terminal 8 to data bus 7 as signal (i). Further, signal (h) is inputted to instruction decoder 13 and in the 1st 1MC, arithmetic and transfer are intermitted to permit signal (i) to use bus 7; and register 3 latches an instruction code to be executed in the test. In the next 1MC, the arithmetic and transfer of the test instruction code are performed. Thus, signal (i) is transferred by using bus 7 and latched by register 3, so that added boad on the hardware dedicated to CT is lessened.
