Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent malfunctioning due to strained waveform of the generator voltage with a simple construction by means of a semiconductor switch and a current absorbing circuit provided in parallel on the DC side of the rectifier for feeding the field winding with the voltage and current components being vector-combined. CONSTITUTION:The current and voltage components drawn through the power current transformer 102 and the AC reactor 103 are vector-combined at the AC input side of the rectifier 101. The current to be fed to the field winding 2 from the rectifier 101 is controlled with the semiconductor switch 100. Connected in parallel to the field winding 2 is the current absorbing circuit 104 for absorbing the differential current between the DC output current of the rectifier 101 and the field current when the semiconductor switch 100 is OFF. Thus, the excitation regulation with the semiconductor switch on the DC side can prevent malfunctioning due to strained waveform of the generator voltage.
