Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a higher harmonic component by simply forming a circuit by a method wherein a plurality of pulse groups are fed at a prescribed position where the prescribed higher harmonic component can be reduced, and the pulse widths are changed to control an output voltage value with the pulse groups generated positions remaining settled. CONSTITUTION:For the three-phase Graetz type inverter, switching elements S1-S6 are provided between a power source 3 and an induction motor 8 and continuity- controlled by signals fed from a control circuit 7. The controlling operation is performed in order that the pulse groups P1-P6 can be obtained in sequence between the output terminals during the specified period such as the first pulse group P1 of a negative voltage during the period of 0-alpha1, the position where the respective pulse groups P1-P6 are generated being settled at the positions where the higher harmonic component can be reduced and an effective value of the AC output voltage of the inverter being adjusted by changing the pulse width. Accordingly, the higher harmonic component is kept constant regardless of the changes of the pulse width, and the predetermined higher harmonic component can be reduced in a simple circuit.
