Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise transfer efficiency and to simplify an electrophotographic apparatus, by forming a toner image on a photoconductive layer having a nonadhesive surface using a silicone rubber or the like, overlaying a transfer material, and applying heat and pressure to the backside of the transfer material for the purpose of transferring and fixing the toner image. CONSTITUTION:Photoconductive particles 3 is dispersed into nonadhesive binder 4 selected from a group of silicone elastomer, silicone rubber, fluorocarbon polymer, and fluoroplastics to form photoconductive layer 2 on conductive substrate 1, or nonadhesive layer 5 is formed on photoconductive layer 2'. A toner image is formed by the electrophotographic method on photoreceptor 6 having such a nonadhesive surface. Transfer paper 10 is overlaid on the toner image, and heat and pressure are applied to the backside of paper 10 to transfer and fix the image, thus permitting transfer efficiency to be improved, the remaining toner on layer 2 of photoreceptor 6 to be almost removed, therefore a fixing device to be made unnecessary, and a cleaning device to be made unnecessary or simple.
