Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a high dephosphorizing efficiency, by thickening excess sludge generated from an active sludge process including a biological dephosphorizing step, separating phosphoric acid from a separated liquid in the thickening step by the addition of a calcium agent, and introducing thickened sludge to the following disposing step.
CONSTITUTION: Sewage 1 is disposed and dephosphorized in an active sludge process 2 comprising an anaerobic part C, a denitrifing part D and an aerobic part E. Excess sludge 7 enriched in phosphorus disperses the phosphorus while staying in an anaerobic agitating vessel 8. The excess sludge 7 is divided into supernatant liquid 10 containing a large quantity of phosphorus and thickened sludge 11, by a thickener 9. The supernatant liqud 10 is mixed with a calcium agent 14, and carried through a dephosphorizing vessel 12 packed with a dephosphorizer 15. The precipitate of generated calcium phosphate is separated from the supernatant liquid 10. On the other hand, the thickened sludge 11 discharged from the thickener 9 is mixed with a magnesium agent 16, carried to the following suldge-disposing step 13, and reserved there. Digestion effluent A discharged from the step 13 is returned to the anaerobic part C of the active sludge process 2.
