Abstract
PURPOSE: To attain a high thermal efficiency of a power plant in stable manner independently of the change in the quantity of input heat, by detecting the level of condensate in a condenser for condensing vapor after use for driving turbine, and controlling the amount of condensate to be supplied to a direct heat exchanger on the basis of the detected level of condensate in the condenser.
CONSTITUTION: In the low-boiling medium utilizing power plant shown in the drawing, high-temperature fluid 3 heated in a heater (not shown) is carried into direct heat exchanger 4, in which it exchanges heat with low-temperature fluid 6 of low-boiling medium and vaporizes the same. By driving turbine 7 by the vapor of low-boiling medium, power is generated from generator 8. Vapor discharged from turbine 7 is condensed in codenser 9 and then carried back to heat exchanger 4 via pump 11 and flow control valve 12. Here, a detector 14 for detecting the level of condensate is provided in condenser 9. Output of the detectot 14 is compared with a set level of level setter 21 in means 22 for controlling the flow rate of low-temperature fluid, and flow control valve 12 is controlled on the basis of the difference of this comparison.
