Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove background signals and out-of-focus suspended-particle image signals by a method wherein after the signals obtained by differentiating picture signals have been selected by level, the correlative function between the peak signals obtained at an interval of time is obtained. CONSTITUTION:The picture signals, which are obtained by scanning a diode array element P arranged on one side of an electrophoretic tube 1, are converted into digital signals. Then, the data in front and the rear thereof are subtracted by means of a subtracting circuit Su in order to differentiate the picture signals, which are stored in a memory M1. From said signals, ones of level more than a given value are selected by means of a level selector L. After background signals have been removed, signals of pulse width less than a given value are outputted by a discriminating circuit J, so that out-of-focus particle image signals are removed. Said output signals are successively stored in memories M2, M2', M2''... correspondingly to each scan, and correlatively processed between adjacent memories by means of a multiplier Mp and an adder S, and the operational results are integrated to a memory M3. Thereby, clear suspended particle image signals can be obtained.
