Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the responding speed of an electrochromic (EC) display body by using a display section formed by laminating transition metallic oxide films and electronic conductor films. CONSTITUTION:Thin films 9 of a transition metallic oxide such as WO3 and thin films 10 of an electronic or ionic conductor such as Pd or Li3N are alternately laminated on transparent electrode 2 laid on glass substrate 1 to form a thin EC film. Thus, a display section is formed, and it is used as a substrate of display side to manufacture an EC display body. Each of thin films 9, 10 has about several tens-several hundreds Angstrom thickness, and the light transmittance of the formed thin EC film is preferably adjusted to about 70-90%.
