Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a large-sized liq. lens simply and inexpensively by curving a transparent glass or plastic plate into the shape of the lens, injecting a transparent liq. such as water, and tightly sealing the lens. CONSTITUTION:Transparent glass or plastic plate 4 having a plane surface is attached to frame 5 supporting a liq. lens. A transparent glass or plastic plate is curved, and the upper and lower sides are fixed to form curved plate 1 for the lens. Transparent glass or plastic side plates 2 one of which has inlet 3 for injecting a transparent liq. on one side are attached, and plates 1, 2, 3 are adhered to each other. The resulting lens is brought down so as to face inlet 3 upward. After injecting a transparent liq., inlet 3 is sealed to obtain a liq. lens. When this lens is irradiated with sunbeams, a focus appears as a line in the lateral direction, and by moving the lens according to the sun, a high temp. can be obtd. continuously.
