Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect track slippage with a simple circuit constitution, by recording the pilot signal of a single frequency together with the video signal and by comparing levels of the pilot signal relatively at the reproducing time to obtain a tracking error signal. CONSTITUTION:The horizontal synchronizing signal included in the video signal is converted to a sine waveform through synchronizing separating circuit 32, band-pass filter 34, etc. to obtain pilot signal fB. Then, pilot signals which are different in phase by 180 deg. for every two tracks are recorded through switch circuit 36. The reproduced pilot signal is caused to pass through amplifying circuit 47, etc. to take out a voltage corresponding to the reproduced output level, and then, voltage (g) corresponding to the difference between voltage (e) corresponding to the level of the pilot signal and voltage (f) corresponding to the level of the pilot signal to be reproduced by head HB, namely, tracking slippage is output to terminal 52 through level comparator 51. By this constitution, track slippage is detected with the simple circuit constitution where the phase control circuit is not used.
