Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect an error signal in a reproduced signal from an optical recording medium accurately and stably, by regarding an error signal, detected in the section of a synchronizing signal, not as an error. CONSTITUTION:When an error signal in a reproduced signal from an optical recording medium is to be detected, an error signal, if detected in the section of a synchronizing signal, is not regarded as an error. For example, a reproduced signal from optical disk 3 is branched into two via amplifier 5; one component is converted into a video signal by demodulating circuit 6 and synchronizing signal section (g) is separated by synchronizing-signal separating circuit 7. The other component is compared with threshold level (d) by comparator 8 to output the waveform that contains detection pulse (e) of the synchronizing signal section and detection pulse (f) corresponding to the error signal. This detection pulse (e) is passed through delay circuit 10 conforming its timing with that of synchronizing signal section (g) from synchronizing-signal separating circuit 7, and then passed through AND circuit 11 to eliminate by a gate detection pulse (e) that corresponds to synchronizing signal section (g).
