Abstract

PURPOSE: To remarkably increase the O3 generation efficiency of an ozonizer by mixing an oxygen-contg. fluid into an oxygen-contg. fluid of high O concn. immediately after microwave discharge in the ozonizer to raise the probability of O being hit against O2.
CONSTITUTION: Oxygen-contg. fluid 5 fed into discharge tube 1 in microwave cavity resonator 2 is passed through resonator 2 after generating O atoms and partially generating O3 by discharge with microwaves generated from microwave generator 3. This passed fluid of plasma state is immediately supplied into gas mixer 7, where it is mixed with other oxygen-contg. fluid 9 flowing into mixer 7 through gas nozzle 8 to remarkably increase the concn. of O3, and the resulting fluid is taken out of O3 outlet 6. Resonator 2 preferably prevents a temp. rise of tube 1 with cooler 10 and controls the thermal decomposition of produced O3.
