Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction owing to the reflected waves from objects other than the object to be measured and measure distance accurately by provding a blind anone generating circuit for the purpose of eliminating unnecessary reflected waves. CONSTITUTION:After the reflected waves of the ultrasonic waves from the object to be measured are received in a radio receiver 16b, they are supplied via an amplifier 17 to a measuring circuit 15. This amplifier 17 is controlled by the output of a gate 18. Namely, when the output of the gate 18 is of a low level, the output of the amplifier 17 is interrupted. Thereupon, when there are unnecessary reflected waves by projecting etc., a blind zone generating circuit 14 is provided so that the output of the gate 18 is kept at low level for a prescribed time, whereby the output of the amplifier 17 is interrupted. Hence, there is no input to the measuring circuit 15 during this time and therefore the occurrence of malfunction is obviated. Since the effect of the unnecessary reflected waves is not exerted upon the measuring circuit 15, the accurate distance is measured.
