Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the high speed plating treatment, in subjecting the surface of a strip to the electroplating in the radial cell system, by pouring a plating liquid between a cathode which is the strip wound on a rotary drum and an anode from different directions respectively to make an ion concn. of the plating liquid between both electrodes uniform.
CONSTITUTION: A current applying rotary drum 2 is rotated at a high speed above a plating tank 1 and the strip 7 is wound on the drum 2 through a deflector roll 8 and withdrawn through other deflector roll 8'. During this time, the plating liquid 6 is sent into a gap 4 between the anode 3 covering a lower half part of the drum and the cathode which is the strip 7 wound on the drum 2 from a main pipe 5 and a current is applied to both electrodes while said plating liquid is flooded from a down-pass side D and an up-pass side U of the strip 7 to carry out the plating. In this time, accelerating injection nozzle 10 of the plating liquid is provided in the gap 4 of the down-pass side and the speed reduction injection nozzle 11 in the gap 4 of the up-pass side to pour the plating liquid into the gap 4 and, thereby, a flow amount is equalized over an entire length of the gap 4 to enable to form the uniform plating layer at a high speed.
