Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the metal pattern having dynamic artistic effect on a surface of a vessel by a method wherein a continuous pattern is drawn on a surface of an electrically insulative inorg. vessel with an electroconductive paint and, after said pattern is solidified by heating, said vessel is subjected to the electroplating in a plating bath.
CONSTITUTION: A surface of an electrically insulative coffee cup 1 made of a pottery is degreased and cleaned perfectly. Subsequently, a transfer paper on which a continuous pattern 2 is printed by a baking type electroconductive paint is contacted to the surface of the vessel 1 so as to face a base paper thereof upwardly to transfer said pattern and, after said vessel is preliminarily dried at 150°C for 5min, said vessel is heated at 700°C for 15min to bake and fixedly adhere said pattern 2. Next, on the baked electroconductive pattern, an Ag plating layer is formed thereon by electroplating and, thereby, a thick dynamic metal pattern with excellent three dimentional feeling can be easily formed.
