Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform a control of the combustion quantity in a wide range with good response by comparing a control output with a preset threshold value, and changing a change-over switch by the result of the comparison over to either of the continuous control mode and ON-OFF time proportional control mode.
CONSTITUTION: The temperature of a heat treatment furnace 1 provided with a burner 2 is detected by a temperature sensor 3, and its output is sent to a PID computer 6. The computer 6 computes the control quantity from a furnace temperature set value To, other constants and a furnace temperature set value T, and supplies as a current form i(ΔT) to a change-over switch 7. The change-over switch 7 compares the control output i(ΔT) with a bordery value i(k) designated by a threshold value setter 8. In a case where i(ΔT)>i(k), the change-over switch 7 is changed over to the right hand, and in a reverse case, it is changed over to the left hand. When the switch 7 is connected to the right hand, the computer 6 is directly connected to the actuator 10 of a fuel valve 4, and conversely in a case where the switch 7 is connected to the left hand, the computer 6 is connected thereto through the ON-OFF time proportional converter 9.
