Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a grid which has small self discharge and provides a good cycle life performance, by subjecting a low antimony system lead alloy containing below a given amount of Sb and small amounts of other elements to extrusion at a high temperature, before thus prepared sheet is subjected to expanding work, and by thus obtaining a grid. CONSTITUTION:A lead alloy containing below 2% of antimony, small amounts of arsenic, tin, silver and the like is subjected to extrusion at a high temperature (for example, at 100-230 deg.C), thereby a lead alloy sheet being made. The sheet is rolled at an ordinary temperature to meke it thin, before it is subjected to expanding work according to a conventional method, thus a grid being obtained.
