CONSTITUTION: This lead free cutting steel has a composition consisting of 0.10W 0.80% C, 0.05W0.35% Si, 0.2W1.5% Mn, ≤0.1% P, ≤0.15% S, ≤0.4% Pb, ≤0.1% Nb, ≤0.005% Al or further if necessary, ≤2.0% Cr and/or ≤0.5% Mo and the balance practically Fe. This steel shows the effect elongating the life of a tool in a relatively low-speed cutting region, and it is suitable for use as a strong member for a machine structure.
