Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled extract consisting of an adlay extract and a saccharide.
CONSTITUTION: A composition consisting of 100pts.wt. adlay extract, particularly roasted adlay extract and 1W2,000pts.wt. at least one edible substance selected from sugaralcohol, e.g. sorbitol, a monosaccharide, e.g. glucose or fructose, and polysaccharide, e.g. sucrose and lactose. The adlay has a beautifying effect, antitumor effect, a diuretic effect and a tonic effect and has been drunk by the decoction. The troublesome decocting operations tend to form undissolved lumps on dissolving the industrially prepared adlay extract in drinking. Therefore, the addition of the saccharide permits the ready dissolving of th adlay extract in hot water, etc. without forming the undissolved lumps.
