Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the free control of the directional characteristics by giving the control to the variable reactance provided to a pair of abbreviated dipole antennas possessing the distribution constant inductances. CONSTITUTION:Folded-type dipole antennas 8 and 9 possessing the distribution constant inductances are distributed to oppose each other and a fixed distance secured between. The variable reactances provided to antennas 8 and 9 are controlled by main variable turning control means 13. At the same time, antennas 8 and 9 are connected to signal compounding unit 10 each. And now the control signal sent from control means 13 is varied by a secondary variable turning control means 14 to give the control to antennas 8 and 9. As a result, the directional characteristics can be controlled freely for the antenna device. In such way, a small- size antenna device can be obtained with the free control ensured for the directional characteristics.
