Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain both the miniaturization and the control of the directivity for the antenna device, by changing the combinations of the control signals which give the control to the variable reactance of the folded and abbreviated dipole antennas. CONSTITUTION:Folded and abbreviated dipole antennas 31-36 possessing the distribution constant inductance are provided at each fixed position with antennas 31 and 34 which function as the radiators. Antennas 31 and 34 are connected to signal compounding unit 37 via switching means 43; and each of antennas 31-36 is connected via switching means 42 to tuning control means 40 which delivers the different control signals to give the control to the variable reactance of each antenna. Then the combination is varied in various ways between switching means 42 and 43, and thus the directivity can be controlled for the antenna device. In such way, the Yagi antenna device which can be controlled for its directivity can be obtained in a miniature constitution.
