Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a drive circuit, reduce its size and stably operate a polarized electromagnet to a rectified output as well, by eliminating contacts from the drive circuit. CONSTITUTION:When power is applied, a full-wave-rectified output is produced at SR and an instantaneous current flows through a capacitor C1 and a solenoid SL is moved and a capacitor C1 is charged. The rectified output is equalized to zero at every half wave. A capacitor C2, which provides a sufficiently large time constant in cooperation with a resistor R2, is connected in parallel with a diode D. As a result, the discharge current from the capacitor C1 flows toward the other capacitor C2 and the wrong operation of a transistor Tr and the wrong reset of the solenoid are surely prevented. When the power is not applied or power failure occurs, the transistor Tr is turned on to put the solenoid out of self-sustaining because a time constant C1R2 is set much larger than that of C2R2. Since the resistance R2 is sufficiently high, power consumption is low. As a result, the solenoid can be quickly opened at the time of power failure and a solenoid drive circuit is safe and does not cause malfunction and has a high reliability.
