Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove vortexes and stagnations in the stream of condensate and to prevent oxides from accumulating by a method wherein a condensate passage in a hotwell of a condenser for a boiling-water type atomic power generation plant is formed in the shape of a spiral.
CONSTITUTION: The condensate passage 13 starts from the cut part 6 of the hot well cover at the corner part of the hot well 4, is composed of a hot well 4 side wall and a passage partition plate 14 and reaches the condensate outlet 10 at the center of the hot well in the form of a spiral. Thus, the condensate which flows in from the cut part 6 of the hot well 4 runs at a constant flow speed and vortexes and stagnations are produced nowhere because the condensate passage 13 has a nearly constant width and no sudden corner. Accordingly, oxides do not accumulate and are exhausted out of the condenser.
