Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the erosion of the inner peripheral surface of a nozzle box due to oxidized scale such as Fe 202 formed on the inner wall of the stainless copper tube of a boiler superheater by arranging a projection on the outer surface of the nozzle box which faces to a rotor.
CONSTITUTION: Solid particles 19 erode the inner peripheral surface of a nozzle box 14 when said particles flow through the smallest part 18a in the space 18 between the nozzle box 14 and a rotor 13. In order to prevent such erosion, a partition plate 20 is interposed at the horizontal joint surface at the inner peripheral part on the turbine side and the generator side of the nozzle box 14, namely, at the joint part of the upper half and the lower half nozzle boxes 14a and 14b. The revolution of the solid particles 14 is obstructed by said partition plate 20, so the erosion of the inner peripheral surface of the nozzle box 14 can be prevented. When an anti-erosion material is fused on the surface of the partition plate 20, more effective erosion preventing action is obtained.
