Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the erosion of the rotor disc of a steam turbine, by connecting a keyway to a scoop hole extending from the outside surface of the steam-downstream boss of the rotor disc to its inside surface. CONSTITUTION:A rotor disc 2 is secured on a rotor shaft 3 by shrinkage fitting. A key 4 is provided in a keyway 5a to position the rotor disc. A scoop hole 22 and the keyway 5a are connected to each other. Some steam 24 at a downstream side 11b flows upstream through the scoop hole 22 and the keyway 5a. As a result, no condensed water is produced in the keyway 5a. The rotor disc 2 is thus protected from erosion.
