Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect broken position of the cooling facility of furnace wall assuredly, by supplying cooling water having a pressure equal to the mean value of the furnace pressures at an upper and a lower levels of the water cooling circuit, and by detecting the quantity of furnace gas mixed into the water cooling circuit. CONSTITUTION:When CO is mixed, for example, into cooling material 2c, it flows into an exhaust water pipe 4 and flows through a sampling pipe 8, a distributor 9 into an analyzer 10, where it is detected, hereby the breakage of the water cooling circuit C is found. Then the signal is fed to an elecromagnetic on-off valve 6 attached to a cooling water feed pipe 3 in the water cooling circuit C, and water is supplied at a pressure equal to mean value of pressures shown by pressur gauges P4, P5 for the furnace gas at exhausting and feeding position, or the upper and lower levels, and the quantity of mixed gas at the analyzer 10 for the quantity of mixed gas is measured. When the gas quantity decrease quickly with time, the breakage caused in the upper part of the water cooling circuit C is found. Thus the installation of a number of gas pressure gauge in the water cooling circuit makes it possible to find broken parts easily and correctly.
