Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the fatigue strength of iron and steel materials to bending, vibration, etc. by subjecting the iron and steel materials after plastic working by drawing to low-temp. annealing treatment thereby forming these to the flat structure in which recrystallization is hardly observed and increasing their hardness.
CONSTITUTION: Iron and steel materials are subjected to cold plastic working such as drawing to make the iron and steel materials of a pipe- or bar-shape in the state in which uniform flat structure is maintained. Thence, it is subjected to the low- temp. annealing treatment by the temp. and time by which no recrystallization is observed, that is, such temp. and time that put them into the state just before the start of recrystallization, whereby they are formed into the flat structure in which recrystallization is hardly observed; moreover, the hardness thereof is increased to the hardness 55%W125% higher than that at the perfect annealing of these iron and steel materials. Thereby, the fatigue strength of the iron and steel materials after annealing is considerably increased.
