Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an anticorrosion metallic pipe having excellent fitting characteristic and a high resistance to chemicals, by inserting a sheet of unbridged silyl-modified polymer into a metallic pipe, heating the metallic pipe at a specified temperature to allow the sheet to be fused to the inner surface of the metallic pipe, and then subjecting the sheet to bridging in the presence of a silanol catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: A sheet 3 of unbridged silyl-modified polymer is cylindrically rolled and inserted into a metallic pipe 1. The metallic pipe 1 is then rotated around its own axis at a high speed as the sheet 3 is maintained at a temperature not less than the softening point thereof, to fuse the sheet 3 to the inner surface of the metal pipe 1. The sheet 3 is then subjected to a reaction with water in the presence of a silanol condensation catalyst so as to be bridged. As a result, an anticorrosion metallic pipe is obtained. For example, a steel pipe 1 is heated to 160W180°C and then rotated around its own axis by drive rollers 2a, 2b. This pipe 1 contains therein a cylindrically rolled sheet 3 of unbridged silyl-modified polymer containing a silanol condensation catalyst.
