Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the manufacture of high accurate double-ply pipe comprising the tightly bound outer pipe and inner pipe over entire length, by giving first the thermal contraction and next the hydraulic expansion to the inner pipe, and then, by causing the thermal expansion in the inner pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The inner pipe 2 made of stainless steel, etc., is inserted into the outer pipe 1 made of carbon steel, etc. The hydraulic-cooling medium is introduced into inside 3 of the inner pipe 2 through the hole 5 of the plug 4 in order to cause the thermal contraction in diameter of the inner pipe 2. Next, the pressure of hydraulic-cooling medium is raised to expand the inner pipe 2; hereby, the outer pipe 1 is also simultaneously expanded together with the inner pipe 2. When the diameter becomes the set value, the pressure rise of the medium is interrupted, and the hydraulic-cooling medium is discharged from the inner pipe 2; hereafter, the diameter of inner pipe 2 is further increased owing to the thermal expansion, and the interference is formed between the outer pipe 1 and the inner pipe 2. According to this method, various kinds of material can be combined, and the tightening becomes uniform, resulting in the improvement of the product yield.
