Abstract
PURPOSE: To execute the rolling work to obtain the highly accurate ring type thin walled product of small diameter and wide breadth, by inserting the hot ring type blank into the ring type die provided with the inner diameter equal to the aim diameter and the axial breadth equal to the aim breadth, and by pressing the blank being rotated together with the die.
CONSTITUTION: The ring type blank M is heated to the specified temperature and is inserted in the ring type die R. The inner diameter of the die R is made approximately equal to the aim outer diameter of the product to be obtained by the hot rolling, and the axial breadth is made approximately equal to the aim breadth to be rolled. The ring type blank M is pressed against the inner surface of the die R by the mandrel 2, and is expanded at its diamter until it coincides with the inner diameter of the die R; then, the entire outer surface of the ring type blank M makes contact with the inner surface of the die R, and the further diametral expansion is restained. At the same time, when the breadth is expanded until it coincides with the breadth of the die R, the further expansion of breadth is restrained by the axial rolls 3, 4. By continuing further rolling work, the lacking-in-metal portion is filled up, and the ring type blank M is formed into the highly accurate ring type product P without causing the elliptical deformation.
