Abstract
PURPOSE: To simply, surely joint the pipes, by inserting the end of the pipe to be jointed into the pipe joint provided with the O-ring being set inside of the bulge ring, and then, by pressing this bulge ring from outside for indenting the pipe's outer surface inward.
CONSTITUTION: The thin walled cylindrical socket 1 is prepared; this socket 1 is provided with the diameter contracted stepped part 1a at the middle, and also is provided with the outward bulging rings 1b, 1b, on both of the right and the left sides of the stepped part 1a, and besides, the O-ring 2 is set inside of each bulge ring 1b. Each opposite end of the pipes 3, 4, to be jointed together is inserted into the open mouths on both ends of this socket 1 so as to pass over the O-ring 2 until the pipes 3, 4, touch the diameter contracted stepped part 1a of the socket 1. Hereupon, each bulge ring 1b of the socket 1 is pressed inward by the suitable press die like as the press roller 5, etc.; hereby, the bulge ring 1b is forced to cause the plastic deformation so as to reduce the bulging height, and also, the wall of each pipe 3, 4, is circumferentially indented inward 3a, 4b, through the O-ring 2.
