Abstract

PURPOSE:To positively prevent generation of black smoke by measuring the concentration of unburnt components by the analysis of exhaust gas and varying the target valve of the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas in correspondence to the result of the measurement. CONSTITUTION:An adjusting meter FIC in which a fuel quantity data FLD and a load variationdata LDD supplies a required fuel quantity data FFD to a controller FCT, and on the other hand, also supplies the same to an air-fuel ratio setter A/FS. The air-fuel ratio setter A/FS supplies the air-fuel ratio to an oxygen concentration controller O2IC. The setter O2S determines a control target value OXA of the oxygen concentration within the exhaust gas, supplies the thus determined value as a set value to the oxygen concentration controller O2IC. The oxygen controller O2IC amends the input from the air-fuel ratio setter A/FS, and the amended input is supplied to an air quantity display meter AIC. The oxygen content within the exhaust gas is controlled to coincide with the target value determined by the set value O2S.
