Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the clogging of a nozzle due to drying of an ink liquid in the proximity of the nozzle while using a simple construction by a method wherein a vibration of a resonance frequency for a head is generated from an oscillator to move the ink liquid stagnated in the head during a nonprinting time of the ink jet recorder. CONSTITUTION:During a printing time of the recorder, the oscillator 4 and an electrostrictive vibrator 3 in the ink jet head 1 are electrically connected with each other through an electromagnetic switch 17. At the nonprinting time, simultaneously when a solenoid valve 8 is closed to cut off the supply of the ink liquid to the head 1, an oscillator 16 is electrically connected with the vibrator 3 through the switch 17 and the vibration of the vibrator 3 is transmitted to the ink liquid, so that the ink liquid stagnated in the interior of the head 1 is moved and is prevented from drying in the proximity of the nozzle 2. The oscillating frequency of the oscillator 16 is about 1/2 of that of the oscillator 4.
