1467282 Droplet producing apparatus HOBEG HOCHTEMPERATURREAKTORBRENNELMENT GmbH 23 May 1974 [25 May 1973] 12208/76 Divided out of 1467281 Heading B8N [Also in Division H2] An apparatus for producing spherical droplets, e.g. of fuel and fertile producing liquid or nuclear fuel elements, comprises one or more nozzles 4 on a vibrating table 1 mounted by leaf springs 5 and helical springs 6 and vibrated by one or more electromagnets 3 influencing one or more permanent magnets 2 on the table. The electromagnet is supplied from an oscillator whose frequency is variable between 50 c/s and 1000 c/s and whose amplitude is variable between zero and maximum amplitude. The droplets may be monitored by a stroboscope to control needle valves in the supply to the nozzles. A gear pump or compressed air assist delivery to produce a jet of liquid which is broken by the vibrations.
