Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a painted film with excellent appearance and weather resistance at a low cost in an energy saving manner by a method wherein the baking is carried out after undercoating and, subsequently, an intermediate coating is applied and, thereafter a topcoating is applied and baked without applying the baking to said intermediate coat.
CONSTITUTION: A painting film with a thickness of about 20μ is formed as an undercoat by electrodeposition painting and, after baking, a painting film with a thickness of about 30W40μ is formed as an intermediate coat by blow painting. Subsequently, a painting film with a thickness of about 30W40μ is formed as a topcoat by the blow painting and baked. Thereby, the painting film with appearance (gloss) and weather resistance almost equal to that of the conventional three-coat three-base painting can be obtained.
