Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the thermal efficiency of a burner for heating a rail for the use at the time of exchanging the rail by providing a flame retention chamber having a flame injection hole so as to surround a rail heating chamber, thereby enabling the heating of the rail by means of convection and radiation.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of flame injection holes 2 are formed at the frame retention chamber 3, which is provided to surround the rail heating chamber 1, and an air chamber 4 is further provided on the outer periphery of the chamber 3. Air injection holes 6 are formed at the air chamber 4 to form air curtains at both sides of the base (c) of the rail and a plurality of fuel gas injection units 7 and air injection holes 8 for injecting the combustion air from the air chamber 4 are formed at the chamber 3. While the air curtain 5 is forming, the combustion is continued in the flame retention chamber 3, the flame is injected from the flame injection holes 2 toward the rail 9 to heat the rail by means of convention, and the rail 9 is also heated by the radiation heat from the chamber 3.
