Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the occurrence of collision noise and vibration by providing a resilient member at the lower part of a rod guide of the oil pressure type shock absorber which holds tightly the outer periphery of the rod so as to support the rod in a floating condition. CONSTITUTION:The rod guide 8 is positioned at the upper end of a cylinder 2 in an engagement therewith to position the upper ends of an inner cylinder 4 and an outer cylinder 3. The rod guide 8 has a through bush 9 through which the rod 7 moves up and down. Below the rod guide 8, there is arranged the resilient member 20 in an engagement with the inside of the inner cylinder 4. Due to the resilient holding force of the resilient member 20, the rod 7 is supported tightly by the resilient member 20 through an inner diameter member 22 in a floating condition. With such a construction, the collision noise does not leak out of a space between the bush 9 and rod 7. The collision and vibration are effectively attenuated by the resilient member 20.
