Abstract

PURPOSE:To apply a larger rebound load to a shock absorber even if its weight is decreased, by supporting the rebound load with a lock collar and spring of the shock absorber when its piston is extremely extended. CONSTITUTION:An oil hydraulic shock absorber, in which outer and inner tubes 11, 14 are slidably fitted, is formed in such a manner that a seat pipe 13 is vertically providing from the bottom part 12 of the tube 11 and a spring 21 fitted to the top end peripheral part of this pipe 13, further a lock collar 22 is provided to the bottom end part of the tube 14, thus a rebound load at extreme extension of a piston 17 is supported by the collar 22 and the spring 21. When the oil hydraulic shock absorber is applied with a load to perform abnormal motion of extension and lift the piston 17, the tube 14 is integrally lifted with the piston through a piston rod 16 and damped while compressing oil in a chamber A, simultaneously the collar 22 collides with the spring 21 and is contacted thereto to support the load at extreme extension and suppress movement of the piston 17.
