Alarm circuit 11 generates alarm signal G to report a fear of the occurrence of the abnormal operation in the VTR. When a prescribed time passes without the stop operation, delay time generating circuit 9 stops generating output signal E, and STOP command generating circuit 10 generates signal F at the rise of signal E to stop the VTR by system logic circuit 3, thereby preventing the occurrence of the abnormal operation.
