Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform protective operation of high reliability, by suppressing protective operation even if shortcircuit is detected for a certain period of time in synchronization with firing signals. CONSTITUTION:Firing signals F conduct and control transistors RP and SN (waveform a), and RN and SP (waveform b). A timing circuit 8 produces a gate signal c with pulse-width DELTAt based on phase of the firing signals F. When charging current ic of a snubber circuit produces pulse-width DELTAt for several micro-seconds, pulse- width DELTAt will be set to be 10 micro-seconds. A timing circuit 8 suppresses generation of a shortcircuit detection signal S0 even if a shortcircuit detection signal S is inputted while a gate signal is produced. The shortcircuit detection signal S0 will be produced, when a shortcircuit detection signal is inputted while a gate signal is not produced.
