Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the magnetic head having an accurate gap length, by causing a reinforcing block to adhere to the end face of the core material. CONSTITUTION:A pair of head core material 1' and 2' are comformed to each other with their gap forming faces opposite to each other, and grooves 30 are provided in both sides of gap part 4', and mold material 3 is charged in grooves 30 to fix head core materials 1' and 2', and reinforcing block 8 consisting of a nonmagnetic substance is caused to adhere to one end face 7 out of both end faces 7 and 7' with grooves 30 formed. Then, these head core materials are cut along the broken line to form a head core piece with block. The side opposite to the side where block 8 adheres is molded along the broken line, and this molded face is finished as a face to be brought into contact with the magnetic recording medium, thereby obtaining a head core. Since reinforcing block 8 adheres to the core, the state of gap part 4' is not changed due to the temperature change even if a material different in the thermal expansion coefficient from core materials 1' and 2' is used as mold material 3.
