CONSTITUTION:On an auxiliary base body made of a plastic film, etc., a metal such as titanium foil is vapor-deposited and then the auxiliary base body is removed by melting to obtain domed diaphragm base body 17 formed of only a vapor- deposited metal layer. Those base bodies 17 are arranged on the internal wall of quartz-made cylinder 16 in container 5 serving as the processing chamber of a microwave nitriding processor. Container 5 is evacuated and supplied with nitrogen gas and hydrogen gas at an adequate mixture ratio while fed with microwave electric power to produce plasma 25, performing the surface nitriding processing of each base body 17. In addition to the nitriding processing, the same diaphragm can be obtained by carbonization processing or boriding processing.
