Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a manufacturing process for the device by forming an intermediate substrate of photosensitive glass in a duplex-surface type multinozzle ink-jet head wherein a pressure chamber, an ink-supply channel, an injection channel, etc. are formed on both surfaces of the intermediate substrate, respectively. CONSTITUTION:On the photosensitive glass 2 made of SiO2-Al2O3-Li2O glass containing CeO2 and Ag2O and serving as the intermediate substrate is mounted a mask 1 having a prescribed pattern, and this is exposed and later subjected to heat processing, whereby Li2O-SiO2 crystals soluble in acid are produced in an exposed part. Next, etching is applied to both surfaces by using the water solution of fluoric acid and thereby the pressure chamber, the ink-supply channel and the injection channel are formed simultaneously on both surfaces of the intermediate substrate 2. Then, vibrating plates 6 made of material in the same quality with that of the intermediate substrate 2 are fixed monolithically on both surfaces of the intermediate substrate 2, further electrodes 7 are prepared on the vibrating plates 6 by an evaporation method and the like and a piezoelectric element 9 is bonded to a part corresponding to the pressure chamber, whereby the aimed printing head is obtained.
