Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled extruder which is simply constituted, possesses a large extrusion pressure, and is provided with the die of a large extrusion ratio, being constituted by installing the stationary seal block provided with the material feeding pathway at one end of the hollow space between rolls facing each other, and by installing the die adjoining to the space formed on the extrusion side from the plane connecting the center lines of the rotary shafts of two rolls.
CONSTITUTION: The flanges 12, 13, of the flanged roll are rotated respectively in the arrowed directions M, N; the feed material 16 is fed 17 and is pushed into the space 19 in the depth of the hollow space 15 by the friction generated between the circumferential end planes of flanges 12, 13. Hereupon, if the extrusion force is made larger than the yield stress of the material 16, the material 16 causes the plastic flow in the space 19, and besides, the material 16 contacts with the circumferential end planes of flanges 12, 13, which then generates the extrusion pressure. Following to this, the material 16 is extruded from the die 20 and is formed into the material 22 which is then guided out into outside. Moreover, even if above stated extrusion pressure changes according to the position of the die block 18, if it is assumed that the material 16 is now seized between the circumferential end planes of flanges 12, 13, and the wall surface of the stationary seal block 14, the extrusion pressure can be approximately obtained by the formula.
