Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the simple design to uniformize the effluent material speed at the throat over the whole area, by installing the landless throat near the end face on the product effluent side, and by specifying the opening angle of the die face opening from the throat toward the end face on the billet feed side.
CONSTITUTION: The throat 3c of the die hole for specifying the sectional shape of the wide main part 1a of the product 1, is installed as suitably rounded landless curved plane at the end face 3b on the effluent side, not at the end face 3a on the billet feed side of the die. Besides, the inner face of the die hole at the upper stream of the throat 3c is smoothly connected to the curved plane of the throat 3c, and also, the opening angle θ1 of a couple of inclined planes opening toward the end face 3a is suitably selected correspondingly to the throat gap W1. On the other hand, the die hole forming the narrow projection 1b of width W2 is similarly set so as to make above stated opening angle θ2 to satisfy θ1<θ2, in order to equalize the effluent speeds of the billet from both dies.
