Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a miniature, inexpensive zoom lens of high magnification, by using an ordinary zoom lens and extender and by controlling them relatively. CONSTITUTION:When voltage v that corresponds to zoom ratio (l) to be set in comparator 1 and voltage vn that corresponding to maximum zoom ratio (n) of zoom lens 5 are inputted to the comparator while v >=vn, comparator 1 outputs extender input signal E. When this input signal E is on, extender 4 is held inserted, namely, magnification (m) is set. On the other hand, zoom ratio (l) is set to i/m (m<=n) by potentiometer 2 and voltage v /m is outputted. Selector 3, applied with v and v /m, is switched with input signal E; when E is off, v is outputted when on, v /m is outputted. With this voltage, the zoom ratio of zoom lens 5 is set to (l) or l/m. Consequently, the zoom ratio (l) is continuously variable from 1 to mXn times.
